Tomas is 2 months old already (9 weeks old to be exact). On Friday he had his 2 month doctors visit. He is quite the little man and is growing up quickly! He weighed in at 14lbs and 4 oz, bringing him to the 85th percentile for weight (but he is also 75th percentile for height so he's somewhat in proportion). He fits into 6 month clothes most comfortably but can still squeeze into some smaller outfits. He likes to be awake during the day and loves his big sis. He always greets us with a smile and has the most adorable little coos. He likes experimenting with his tongue, moving it all around. He has found his fingers and will happily suck on them but still prefers the binky. He is sleeping pretty well at night, going 6-7 hours between feeds the past several nights! Tomas kicks around quite a bit and bats at toys. He still has lots of dark hair, but it seem to be thinning. He has reflux which is pretty well controlled with zantac but he likes to give us some good screams at about 10pm for 30 minutes or so. His favorite place to sleep is in mommy's arms, which is going to prove to be a problem for Kevin when I start my 30 hour shifts next week (sorry Kev!). So that is our little man at 2 months.
(I promise, he usually only wears pink when he is in the house...that's the problem with an older sister, the hand-me-downs are pink!)
And our little lady has been doing quite well too. She has recovered from her tongue falling off (ok, not exactly falling off), rotavirus, and ear tubes placed. She has been doing GREAT with her therapies and is really communicating to us quite well given that she cannot communicate verbally. She uses a voice output switch with meals to tell us when she wants more. We also use it with some stories and activities so she "reads" a repeating line from a book or tells us she wants more of an activity. She can indicate yes and no to us with laminated yes/no symbols and is awesome at making choices between things. She is also much better at communicating to us with body language either by walking over to what she wants or actually picking it up and carrying things to us (although she often drops things while walking as her hand function has decreased some across the last 4 months or so). She no longer uses any sign language and she has much more stereotypical hand movements (hits her hands together constantly). But she has just been a smiling, playful, ball of joy and we love it! We are now counting down the days for this crazy winter to end so we can enjoy time outside. Looks like one more snow storm tonight, some other days of scattered snow showers and then hopefully we are going to be able to welcome spring for good.
